Suzanne Mays is a novelist and short story writer. She writes mostly about women in search of land, family, and peace in themselves. Her new novel, The Man Inside the Mountain, is the story of Essie Bell, a woman who believes her son has survived the Civil War and is hiding inside the mountain behind her farm. She had two grown sons and lives in Virginia with her husband.
