Lissa Creola was raised in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. She graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1993 with a BFA in Acting. An actress for many years, Lissa also ran a small theatre company and was involved with producing and voice-over directing. After her daughter was born in 2001, she turned her talents to writing.
Lissa has written a stage adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice which has been produced many times throughout the United States and in Canada (the website for her script is PrideandPrejudicescript.com). Her first short story, “Autumn’s Song”, was published in Self-Rising Flowers (Mountain Girl Press). Other writing credits include “All We Know of Heaven”, a short story published in Zeniths and Zephyrs (MtnValy Publishing), as well as a historical novel and a picture book for children under six for which she is presently seeking representation.
