Mountain Girl Press
Welcome!  We're glad you're here. Mountain Girl Press is a
very small press, but we are anxious to publish quality fiction and stories
that will interest our readers and make them come back for more. We
are located in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains; in the heart of
Southwest Virginia.

Mountain Girl Press was formed to publish fiction that celebrates the wit,
humor, and strength of Appalachian women. Our stories explore the
relationships between mothers and daughters, sisters and friends, and
the way they interact with each other. We are glad you found us and look
forward to entertaining you with our stories.

Join us May 16, 17, and 18, for our 2008 MGP Book Tour as we celebrate
the release of three new novels by three talented Appalachian fiction
writers:  Elizabeth Barker, Lisa Hall, and Susan Noe Harmon.  Go to our
Author Events page for complete details on times and locations.

Elizabeth Barker is new to the Mountain Girl Press family of authors.
Her novel,
Journey of the Brass Bed, takes you on an unforgettable
journey with clever writing, interesting characters, and a fresh plot that
will stick with you long after you've finished the book. Follow the
journey of an antique bed as it is passed from family to family with no
one learning its secret until the dawn of the twenty-first century.
Sometimes the very thing that can save you is right in front of you. Your
heart’s desires are often as close as your bedpost. Travel the journey
with the promise of coming home.

Lisa Hall, a returning Mountain Girl Press author, continues her tale of
life in a fictional Southwest Virginia town with her sequel to last year's
Secrets, Lies, and Pies.  Come back to Coleman, Virginia, the lively little
town where pie is not the only dish on the menu.
Cheaters, Pies, and
Lullabies
picks up where Secrets, Pies, and Lies ended and Marlene,
Allison, Dorothy, and Charity team up for Round Two of Friends v. Hens.
Nothing that anyone does in a small town goes without notice. So, how
long can cheating spouses commence to carrying on without being
caught? How does a new mother cope with evil stares and nasty
comments as her parenting skills come under attack?  Readers will find
the answers to these and many other questions in
Cheaters, Pies, and
Lullabies
.

Susan Noe Harmon, also a returning Mountain Girl Press author,
entertains you with a look back at a different time in the mountains of
Appalachia in her novel,
Under the Weeping Willow. Step into the lives of
one Kentucky family who will capture your heart and leave you wanting
more. Belle, Pearl and Sara, three generations of Appalachian women,
will teach you about life in a 1950’s family and how it touched the future.
Under the Weeping Willow is a story about the closeness of family and
how they enjoy the good times and pull together through the bad. Come
into their world and live and learn from it along with them. You will feel
like you’ve found a home and a family of Kentucky kin.

These three entertaining new novels go on sale May 16, 2008.  Mark the
date on your calendar and be sure to come back and order your copies
